ASP.NET OpenSource

While there is less open source softare in the ASP.NET community, it has a healthy selection of powerful applications. A few are mentioned below.  Some may require an additional cost for a MSSQL database but many are free to host and the staff will be pleased to install them at no setup cost.

BlogEngine.NET is an open source .NET blogging project that was born out of desire for a better blog platform. A blog platform with less complexity, easy customization, and one that takes advantage of the latest .NET features.  The good news is the software is free and does not require a database which makes it perfect for light to moderate sized blogs and it costs nothing.  Our staff will be happy to install this or other software for free.
